Entertainment Has A New Home In LA!

Submitted by Amber on Friday, 5 December 20082 Comments

Los Angeles has become a mecca for entertainment, and home to some of the greatest performers, athletes, and stars in the country. Constantly on the rise for innovative buildings, creative architecture, and making a statement, the city of angels has done it once again. The NOKIA Theatre and L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles opened in late 2007, and had it’s grand opening of the GRAMMY Museum on December 3, 2008.

Another convention/event center in LA, what’s the big deal right?

Wrong, this theatre is one of the biggest in LA, featuring over 7,000 seats, at no more than 220 feet from the stage, in the Theatre alone! They didn’t stop with the theatre when they designed this magnificent center, they also have a 54-story, 1000-room convention center “headquarters” hotel, which combines the JW Marriott, Ritz-Carlton and 24 luxury condominiums: The Ritz-Carlton Residences at L.A. Live.

That’s not all folks, the center also boasts Club Nokia L.A. LIVE, which is a live music venue holding over 2,000 people. It also contains a 14-screen Regal Cineplex, ESPN “broadcast” facilities, and additional entertainment, restaurants, and office spaces.

Want the cons to this place?

Well, like everywhere else in Los Angeles, the parking is irritating at best. While you may purchase “prepaid parking” with your tickets through Ticketmasters, however, the parking only remains open 1 hour after the event, which means if you plan on hanging out in Downtown, you’ve got to find another parking spot. However, within 10 minutes of the NOKIA Theatre and L.A. LIVE center, there are various parking options.

What to know before you go…

Do you have children? If so, make sure to double check the particular event to make sure they may be admitted. If the show allows children, than children under the age of 2 are allowed in free, however, they must not take up a seat, in other words, they’ve gotta stay in your lap.

What if I lose my tickets? Unfortunately, usually you’re out of luck… the best thing to do is return to the original point of purchase for assistance to see what arrangements may be made.

Do you have the list of Stores, Restaurants and bars that you can list them here or in the directory?

We will put up a list as soon as possible, LA LIVE is still opening restaurants and event venues… From our information they are due to be complete in January. At that point we will put up a list of places and contact phone numbers.
